Jackson Northwest Mounties drop season opener to Lansing Catholic Central

The Jackson Northwest Mounties lost their season opener, 28-20, on the road Friday night at Lansing Catholic Central, according to the Jackson Citizen Patriot.

"I'm disappointed, but I still have confidence in my team," coach Eddie Cobb told the Citizen Patriot.

The Mounties are now 5-11 against the Cougars since the teams first played in 1984. See Rivals Archive.

Next week, Northwest will host St. Johns at 7 p.m. Thursday (yes, Thursday) at Mountie Stadium. St. Johns beat Charlotte Friday night, 31-21.
