Jackson Northwest beats Lansing Waverly, 33-21

Jackson Northwest beat Lansing Waverly, 33-21, Friday night on the road, according to MLive's high school football scoreboard.

The victory snaps a two-game losing streak for the Mounties and improves their record to 4-2 this season. Waverly falls to 0-6.

The win sets up a major showdown with Jackson High next Friday at Mountie Stadium.

The game will be Northwest's final home contest of the season as the last two games -- against St. Johns and Western -- are on the road.

More importantly, the Jackson High game is nearly a "must win" for Northwest as it continues its quest for a first-ever playoff bid.
