Mason stops Jackson Northwest, 42-7

Mason jumped out to a 21-0 first quarter lead Friday on its way to beating Jackson Northwest, 42-7. (MLive game story here).

Northwest is now 3-2 on the season while Mason improved its record to 4-1.

The Mounties' Trevor Boyk was held to 50 yards on 15 carries. (MLive game stats here).

Northwest goes on the road next week to Lansing Waverly. The Warriors are 0-5 so far this season after losing 47-12 Friday to St. Johns.
