Although the Mounties have now lost two straight, earning a playoff bid is not impossible.
But it will probably come down to the Jackson High game on Oct. 10 at Mountie Stadium.
That's because Northwest should beat Lansing Waverly this Friday and Western in the season finale (those teams are a combined 0-10 so far this year).
In Week Eight the Mounties will face a very tough St. Johns team on the road.
So, their best shot at a sixth victory is likely going to be against Jackson High in what will be Northwest's final home game of the season.
